Short Biography
I specialize in working with adults navigating familial conflict, low self-esteem, anxiety, and relationship distress stemming from childhood trauma and cultural complexities. I also have an interest in working with immigrant professionals and students, building lives across cultures, and balancing dual identities. As a woman of color, I understand how cultural expectations can affect individuals and manifest as beliefs, patterns, and behaviors that may not serve us; therefore, we will navigate these concerns together in a way that allows you to uphold your cultural values while building a strong sense of self. I utilize a holistic approach to therapy based on where each client is in their life. I use a mix of trauma work, inner child healing, attachment theories, and cognitive behavioural techniques to target thoughts and behaviours. I also enjoy using mindfulness and different breathing tools in sessions! My prior professional background and training have been around childhood trauma, attachment, and psychodynamic work. I heavily focus on drawing parallels between childhood experiences and how they show up in our adult selves.
Therapy Philosophy
I offer a reflective and collaborative space where insight, emotional awareness, and meaningful change can develop over time. My goal is to empower my clients and enable them to explore themselves and their needs in a collaborative and healing space, thus also focusing on social justice and advocacy as important pieces of therapy
