Short Biography

Are you stuck in the echoes of the past? Perhaps you feel a lingering sense of anxiety or heaviness that doesn’t seem to belong to your current life. Maybe you find yourself repeating the same painful relationship patterns, or feeling a suffocating sense of guilt when trying to set boundaries with family. If you feel like you are living out a "script" written by generations before you, you are not alone—and you don't have to carry that burden anymore. I'm a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist licensed in Tennessee, Illinois & Virginia, speaking English, Mandarin & Cantonese. I specialize in navigate intergenerational trauma and complex family dynamics. I am EMDR-trained therapist. I earned my bachelor’s degree in social work in 2007 and my master’s degree in 2013, with a focus on family-centered practice and family therapy. For more than 16 years, I worked at an Integrated Family Service Centre in Hong Kong, offering individual and family counseling.

Therapy Philosophy

I specialize in helping individuals navigate intergenerational trauma and complex family dynamics. My approach goes beyond traditional talk therapy by integrating Bowen Family Systems Theory and EMDR to tackle distress at its roots. While Bowen Theory helps us map out and break recurring family patterns, EMDR works with your nervous system to process stored trauma. Together, we move beyond just "talking" about problems to achieving deep, physiological relief and lasting relational change. My approach is gentle and steady, offering space for old wounds to soften, new patterns to emerge, and your voice to come forward with clarity.
