Gender Identity: agender

Short Biography

My name is Kameryn Rose, but I go by Yams (he/him)! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #119932) practicing since 2016 and licensed since 2020. Over the years I have worked with queer and BIPOC youth and young adults navigating systemic oppression, educational and occupational stressors, identity exploration, and understanding complex diagnoses. Now I continue to work with QTIBIPOC folks, community builders and professionals, neurodivergent identity, gender affirmation; strengthening boundaries, identity, and self-worth. Working in different mental health systems helped me see firsthand the limited and culturally insensitive care available to queer and BIPOC folks, and the importance of having culturally affirming and knowledgeable providers.

Therapy Philosophy

You are a multidimensional being, and you deserve multidimensional care. All parts of your identity have a place in the room whenever you deem it appropriate, and we will work together to create an environment where that feels comfortable. My approach is primarily systemic, humanistic, and collaborative. I am informed by collaborative language systems, and systems theory, but also cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and solution-focused approaches.
