Short Biography

Many teens and young adults struggle with various aspects of their lives, be it identity, relationships, work/school, or past experiences that affect how they feel and navigate the world. I work with many young adults who may seem high functioning at first glance but struggle with depression, anxiety, stress, or other emotional issues. I have particular experience supporting individuals of color navigating issues of race, identity and culture. Talk therapy and medications can be a powerful way to help people process, make sense of, and change these patterns that hold them back from living the life they want.

Therapy Philosophy

I approach therapy with non-judgmental curiosity, compassion, and a goal of building a healing relationship aimed toward better reflection and understanding of one's history, identity and relationships. I use an integrative approach based in liberation, anti-oppression and cultural humility involving aspects of CBT, trauma focused, mindfulness and psychodynamic psychotherapies.

Special Training & Certifications

I am board certified in child, adolescent and adult psychiatry, and having worked at Harvard University with college and graduate students, as well as at Massachusetts General Hospital with children and teens, I have a breadth of experience supporting a wide range of issues in diverse populations. I am certified in trauma focused CBT, and have done an intensive program in psychoanalytic psychotherapy with the Washington Baltimore Center for Psychoanalysis.
