Short Biography

I am an Asian-American integrative psychotherapist with 8+ years of clinical experience in supporting transformative healing in individuals and their relationships. I specialize in working with culture and identity, family/relationship issues including intergenerational trauma, and spirituality/life direction. I am trained in several trauma therapies and somatic release/experiential approaches including IFS, Brainspotting, Deep Brain Reorienting and EFT. I bring a holistic, Jungian/transpersonal, multicultural & justice-lens to my work.

Therapy Philosophy

I believe that we are absolutely capable of steering our own ship in life, of moving in the direction we want by practicing greater sovereignty. But I also know quite well how difficult that can be. Many, if not all of us, are burdened by our own inner struggles, past trauma, and family/cultural/ancestral issues and conditioning we came to inherit, that we simply don't know how to deal with. Those issues--whether it is suppressing your needs for others, constant anxiety, pervasive sadness, or something else--can take us for a ride and spin us into well-worn cycles that are painful and exhausting. We often hear about "breaking old patterns" with little guidance or practical tools on how to actually do that. From my own personal experience and through the therapeutic work I've had the privilege of doing with many clients, I feel confident saying that there are tools out there that work. Somatic (body-based) and experiential therapies are different than talk therapy, and are very effective at resolving, rather than simply understanding or managing, long standing issues. They go deeper to our emotional and nervous system wiring, allowing processing and resolution at the root level. I am passionate about healing intergenerational trauma, because it helps not only the client and all of their immediate relationships, but also provides a healthier template for future generations moving forward.
